    Arizona/Nevada – Winter 2016

Can you tell me about getting to that overlook? Is that close to the road? I seek high overlooks that I can drive to and observe thunderstorms during the monsoon. I'm looking to be in that area this summer. Thank you for the TR. Beautiful pics.

Valentine's Day lava - a rainy day at the flow

That's weird. I work with molten glass, 2200F, and you likely wouldn't be that close with bare arms.

Valentine's Day lava - a rainy day at the flow

Beautiful. Checked out your page and was stunned. There is a globular mass of cooling lava and the surface looks like carnival glass. I love it.

    2 weeks in the Southwest

Great TR and pics. Thank you. Remember something about driving in the rain. It can go from fine to terrifying in the blink of an eye. Sometimes it's just a matter of moving into another layer of soil.

    The Maze in March

"Eventually we made it to the Maze Overlook. Seeing this for the first time is really something" In my 15 or more times there, I have found that every time is like the first time. You know what to expect but your mind does not store it as big as it is live. The last time I climbed out of the...

I guess I did want to know how you got out. That was before I knew about water taxi service from Moab. I learned about that and so much more here. Thank you.

    Guess the spot: Utah Edition

After 25 years, not sure but I remember they were large. This wasn't a bobcat. My wife saw one of those in Joshua Tree. We made fun of her until she showed us the prints in the dust on the hood of our Blazer. I had spent the night at Arch Canyon and was heading to Big Pocket Overlook. After...

    Guess the spot: Utah Edition

It was 1993. There were six of us sleeping on tarps. My wife and I and our two sons on one and Chuck and Moya on another a short distance away. I was sitting up and saw something walking maybe 20 yards away from our vehicles. I didn't get a real good look. I went back to sleep. In the morning...

So many posts. Are we talking about Boulder Mountain? I saw a lion there while camped at Wildcat Flat.

Sounds like fun. Keep me posted. There are some great overlook roads down there. Check out the link and tell me if this is the area. There is a map after all the pictures. https://www.offroaddance.com/northeast-overlooks-vermilion-cliffs-nm-az-english/
