Like this? http://www.tigervehicles.com/ I'm hoping to get something like that in the next couple of years. I like the idea of a heater as I would like to do this during the winter.

Thanksgiving, with a Tree Named Joshua and Food Poisoning

I always sleep in the back of my truck unless it's a meteor shower. I go out hoping for rain and thunderstorms.

Thanksgiving, with a Tree Named Joshua and Food Poisoning

Thank you. I don't feel 70. I'll start sorting pics. Most of the trip involved getting up in the morning with nothing to do and going to bed at night with half of it done.

Yes. At Indian Cove CG the sites are either Reserved or 'Available for One Night". They were unwilling or unable to tell us if the site was reserved for the next night. So you take the place hoping they don't make you move in the morning. What a mess.

Thanksgiving, with a Tree Named Joshua and Food Poisoning

Wonderful report. Just a couple of points. For years JT was my favorite place. These days it's too crowded and the reservation system is insane. I spent Oct 21 - Nov 19th on the road this year. Mojave and Sonoran desert trip. The 2 nights in JT were my least favorite. Also, I spent Nov 18th in...

    Happy Canyon via Black Jump?

That was 17 months ago. Have not been back. Camber generally gets worse over time unless bladed. It's what keeps me from taking my Toyota up on Mt Elliot.

    Happy Canyon via Black Jump?

What bothered me most was the camber on a couple sections of the road above the jump.

    Album Byways & Backways

Thanks for this. I just spent 5 days around Lizard Head Pass. It had been 25 years and I had forgotten that all the most beautiful mountains are stored in that area. Kendall Mountain Road by Randy Langstraat, on Flickr

    Album Weather, Storms and Clouds

I was there maybe 25 years ago. We camped at a remote place called Crazy Jug Point. I wonder if that is still allowed. We also stayed in the official campground. Storms every evening.

Butterfly Camp and Ruth Hike 7/19-7/20

Looks like you had a great time. Regarding mild temps in the Uintas, we bought property in Manorlands in 1983. Back then you needed a coat and gloves on a July night. Water bottles would begin to freeze during the night. I don't go up there much anymore but those cold nights seem to be over.

Lucky lady. Hawaii and St George. Have you ever driven straight south of St Geo into the Parashant NM? The storms were amazing there two weeks ago.

Norteño Gets Elevated in the Swell

Thank you. I've driven by the Fuller Bottom road many times. Is there good 'swimming' there? We usually take a dip at the old wooden bridge at the mouth of Buckhorn.

Norteño Gets Elevated in the Swell

You mentioned Fuller Bottom trail. Forgive my ignorance but isn't there a road to Fuller Bottom? It may be the only road I haven't traveled in the Wedge area. In any event, great TR and great writing.
