    First Foray into Beef Basin

Damn. That's impressive. My first time was Thanksgiving 1976. Been back many times. I tend to explore Ruin Park when I'm there. Thank you for sharing.

    Trap Hills, Michigan, September 14-16

Nice pics. Thank you for sharing. Made me a bit homesick for the hardwood forests and the fungus. I miss four things about Michigan. Family. The big water. The spectacular hardwood forests of the UP. A good Coney Island loose burger.

    Thanks for the great reports!

Be careful swimming in the river. There's a rapid maybe 1/2 mile downstream. Brown Betty I believe. It's a pretty hike.

The cave I mentioned is N 37 57 57.2 W109 43 1.1 You would park at Standing Rock and then walk on the road toward the Doll House. You will see an old road cut off on the right. It may have signage that says it is closed. You will eventually come out on a large white outcropping. Cross it and...

    Thanks for the great reports!

Maze Overlook to Doll House is a busy day. I know of an interesting place that is a 20 minute walk from Standing Rock if you're interested. It used to be an official campsite before 1982 but the road is closed now. It's tall enough to stand upright. Not sure why it posted so many pics. There are...

Glacier National Park - August 2019

Simply amazing. I have only been there once, in 1982. How would you compare glacier mass today with the 80's?

    Hello from middle Tennessee

I visited SMNP as a child in the 50's. There were a lot of bears in the picnic grounds. Is it still like that?

Arizona/Utah road trip loop with sandstone/badlands/canyon hikes

Nice pics. I enjoyed our stay in the Sand Hills. After we separated I spent one night near the top of the grade to Jacob Lake. I could see the lights of Kanab in the distance. The next day I shot across N Arizona to Telluride. That's where they store a lot of the really beautiful mountains...

I think you'll like it here. I'm gonna be a happy idiot And struggle for the legal tender Where the ads take aim and lay their claim To the heart and the soul of the spender I love it.
