Osprey Stratos 24 Pack, REI deal of the day

I like the bladders Nalgene makes for Osprey, but I've had bad experiences with bladders leaking and I avoid those brands too. My favorite part about the bladders, is the magnet that keeps the hydration tube from flailing about. I'm also a Nalgene freak and always have a Nalgene on me (now I...

Osprey Stratos 24 Pack, REI deal of the day

Man I want to buy it just because it's Osprey but I already have the woman's version of this pack. If you are looking for a daypack this size get on it, and buy this thing.

Where do you get your gear?

[quread "uintahiker, post: 34923, member: 49"]Cabelas is another provider of the goods in the area. Backcountry.com is around, Sierra Trading Post can have some good deals (with coupons makes them better), etc. Lots of options in Utah. Unfortunatly, I'm in a town the size of Logan and the...

    Notch Peak

I need to try and get out there sometime. I've had friends out that direction a couple weeks ago, this weekend and next weekend, but my school schedule is so busy, I've had to spend most of my saturdays in the library.

    2014 REI Dividends

I got $42 (I think my dad must have used my account because I don't recall spending that much money there). I'm trying to decide what to get with the 20%. I might get a bike as one of the novaras is something I've been considering. If not that than I will look at getting a hammock I'll probably...

    DIY Dehydrated Backpacking Meals

Makes me wish those paleo meals were cheaper. If I were to get one it'd be for longer trips just to mix things up

    Unrefrigerated Milk?

I've taken some of the Horizon Organic Milk. I usually save it for a couple days into a long trip when I really miss milk and it doesn't taste as bad. I myself actually prefer the vanilla over the chocolate (I'm picky about pre-mixed chocolate milk). I actually prefer getting almond milk over...

    Day packs

I love osprey packs. I have a Sirrus 24 (female stratos) and an osprey verve 9. I use both depending on length of hike or gear needed. I have a small camelback that I never use but I keep for friends to borrow.

    To Do in 2014

Back packed in the white clouds last summer. FYI if you go to frog Lake don't swim as there are leeches. The upper lakes are great though. I might be doing the upper pallisides/waterfall Canyon trip to. Went to upper palisades last October and would love to spend more time there

    The Human-Powered Odometer - 2014

Man I don't even like to think about that. I walk about 5 miles in a 6hr shift at work. Last year I worked about 1500hrs. Last year I hiked (not sure on exact mileage), commuted by bike all summer and September, rowed a bit during the summer, didn't swim much but that'll change this summer...

    Deals on down jackets

I just bought a big Agnes down with a hood for 150 at the OR show. It retails for about 400 so it's a good deal but what sold me was how it fit (I've never found a down jacket that fit this nice) . Has thumbholes too. Here's to hoping I like it.

    Thrift Store Finds

I've found name brand stuff, but none that will fit me. I'm currently on the lookout for a good windbreaker that breathes for riding my bicycle.
