    Flickr is now Free....

http://blog.flickr.net/en/2013/05/20/a-better-brighter-flickr/ In the beginning, Flickr innovated the way people share and discover photos. Today, we are shifting the photo-sharing landscape again. We’re releasing a Flickr that’s more spectacular, much bigger, and one you can take anywhere...

    car camping in the Swell

Off the Green River road is going to be the best option for that. Moonshine, Colonnade, and Horseshoe can make for a pretty sweet weekend. Great camping around Keg Knoll but be warned that road is getting a bit rough. I used to consider this a "secret spot" of sorts but the word is out... last...

    Fat Mans Misery 5.2013

Our day began with a 6:30am start at the trailhead near checkerboard mesa. It was only 38° and the ground was wet from the previous night's storm so I packed my John just in case. We made great time up over the pass and soon we were standing above the first rappel looking at the dry sandy bottom...

    East Fork/Barracks

The powell plaque exit isn't hard at all. When you get to the point where you need to climb go up, right, and then cut back left. I didn't do this the first trip (I stayed left) and it was a bit sketchy. We did it again this past weekend , the exit was a cake walk and I never took off my 25lb...

    Album Campsites

38.274693,-111.089635 theres about 10 sites here, not a place you would want to camp if there was a BIG storm on the way but we crash there all the time. There also some OK sites near pleasant creek on the east side.

    Album Campsites

Everytime I pass meeks it looks packed and we wonder why anyone would camp there. We drive 15min to a campsite on the other side of the park where there's far less people and huge Cottonwood trees. Cottonwood Campsite by Summit42, on Flickr

Bryce Backpacking - Under the Rim

Pretty sure theres a sign below Bryce Point at the fork of the trail that leads to the backpacking sites informing hikers that they will not be camping and hiking within hoodoos. I thought it was pretty funny because lots of people must of complained for a sign to be erected. Maybe its awesome...

    South Fork of Llewellyn Gulch

Two weeks ago my wife and I committed to hiking Llewellyn on a rare trip together without the kids. I had the cords loaded on my GPS for about 3 years but for some reason or another we always ended up passing it up for something else in the area. We drove down to Escalante, hiked lower...

    San Rafael Spring 2013

Good stuff D. I really need to get back down into Upper Eardley. That red holes section of Red Draw is pretty cool, we watched an amazing sunset from the bypass route about 12 years ago that I will always remember.
