Another Great Early Spring trip I took last week into the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness. This is Canyon Crek. This Drainage is directly south of Blodgett, an area that I exemplified pretty well in my last post.
The trail is only 5 miles from TH to Lake, but do not let that fool you. This trail is as steep and rugged as they come!
Especially when you have spring snow conditions and pre- trailcrew season windfall every 100 feet to twist and maneuver around.
But the rewards on this trip were a great! Awesome solitude is provided by these conditions on an otherwise widely popular local Hot-spot for Hamilton residents.
Awesome Views of some of the rapidly melting snow before the hot/dry fire season that is inevitable.
Seeing a frozen lake as it thaws with amazing turquoise hue
SWEEEEET! I am on my way up to the pass that divides Blodgett with Canyon
Looking down into Blodgett Canyon from the Pass, looking North
Canyon Peak, one of the High Points in the Bitterroot
The whole area! So pretty
GREAT TRIP!!! Come again
