Noobs: Introduce Yourself!

I just going to lay it all out there and say that I love your avatar.

Thanks. I've been rockin' that logo as a sticker on my helmet for a couple years now too!

I'm Federica Grassi, I live in Italy (Cannobio, Lake Maggiore)..

Federica, Welcome! I have a colleague who recently visited Italy and did a hiking tour along the coast near Capri. I was so inspired I am sure I will be dragging ibenick to Italy in the coming years. Beautiful coastal areas, please share any pictures you have to help me make my case.

Welcome to the site whitwilli (Whitney) & pinecone (April) we are glad to have you here!

Hello everybody, I'm Bob and I live just outside Capitol Reef NP on the edge of Torrey with partner Janet and dog Biff. I've been here for 7 years now and love hiking in the hills around, not so much in the park these days as Biff isn't allowed to run free there. Last summer I worked part time at the Wayne County visitor center at the junction of 12&24 telling people where to go (great!), and I drive 4WD trips for Backcountry Outfitters in Torrey. My 'real' job is as a software engineer, I also like to take photos and occasionally write a blog entry. I know some won't appreciate this but I also have a dirt bike, which I ride strictly on established trails.

(Well, that was a bit confusing, I kept getting Server Timed Out - Try Again messages but it did actually post, then they were all gone except the first one...)

WOOHOO Capitol Reef!.. This is my favorite place in the world.. Probably because my grandmother grew up there, and I have family roots in the area.. Cass Mulford Was my great great grandfather, and I have a dog named Torrey :) Welcome I will keep an eye open for you when I am down that way (at least 3 times this year :) )

Hey Bob, its great to see you posting here on BCP!
I love your flickr stream and have been following it for years.

We have no problems with responsible off-roading, in fact lots of us have 4x4's. I really like the photos you posted awhile back on your dirt bike trip into the maze. Maybe someday you can post some of those here.

Growing pains ;), I cleaned it up.

It's nice to be on a website with some girls too! are we all from Utah?
I grew up in Missoula, Montana and the mountains and pine trees are what I call home but I love all that Utah has to offer and have come to love the desert!

Sandy, There seem to be several Ladies from outside of Utah thus far. I am a born and raised Utah girl, in fact I may be able to win any "I am from the smallest town" contest.

Hello Backcountrypost,
I am an avid outdoor goer and love to get out of the populated places as much as possible. I live nestled up against the Wasatch and love all things the great outdoors has to offer whether it be backcountry skiing, backpacking or just hiking and camping. I've been reading Nick's trip reports here for quite some time and enjoy them quite a lot. Good to be here:twothumbs:

Thanks for the welcome Nick:D. Yep that's Tower House down on Cedar Mesa. I had the pleasure of visiting Cedar Mesa for the first time this past May and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite places in Utah. I'll post some trip reports from down there pretty soon.

Very cool. I intended to go there on my trip last March but didn't make it. Hopefully next time around. I definitely need to spend more time in Cedar Mesa, especially backpacking. BTW, I love your signature.
