The board has been seriously lacking representation from the southwestern portion of Utah so it's time for a few pictures :). My spring and summer travels had taken me overseas but I was so much looking forward to getting back to the desert this fall. Who knew I would see all four seasons over the span of a few days? My trip started off with temps in the low 80s , then to rain, then to snow showers, and finally into the low 50s. The crazy weather had me constantly changing plans. Here are a few photos from my scrambles.
The vortex - a nice, gentle hike but such a shame it has been heavily vandalized

Diamond Valley Cinder Cone - always wanted to see inside a volcano

The beehive - you start (and finish) with a long, sandy slog but the hike up squirrel canyon is very pleasant and the ascent up the north face really gets your heart pumping

Upper east canyon of Zion - amazing slick rock formations and great views of paranuweap

Many Pools - it was raining/snowing so what better place to go in Zion.

Plus, I couldn't help but return to the scene of my fall

Nippletop - It was steeper than I remember, or maybe I'm just getting old

Explorer's Knoll and Stevensworth Peak Loop - an itch I had been meaning to scratch for many years after reading about it in Courtney's book. Really super fun scramble!

I love the Beehive, but Short Creek always feels like a slog.
@fossana I carried the photo you sent me a couple years ago showing the south face ascent in my backpack. It was my backup plan if the north face was too scary. Fortunately, I navigated the cracks and ledges well and really never ran into any trouble.
