One of our goals of our upcoming trip is getting on top of the divide near Yellowstone Point, and then walking the divide toward Ferry Lake.

Have read some horror stories regarding getting up to the top of Yellowstone point from the valley floor

Instead of trying to directly access Yellowstone point itself, I was looking at possibly going up either Senecio Creek or Jay Creek.

Have any of you done something similar?? Any thoughts on wether Senecio Creek or Jay Creek would be the better option to attempt getting up to the divide near Yellowstone Point?

Any and all info, suggestions, etc very welcome.

Thanks

I've never been to Yellowstone Point before, but I have been up Jay Creek and onto the plateau. There is an old outfitter's trail that goes maybe a third of the way up Jay, after that you'll need to pick up game trails. Still hard to avoid willows in places, but the whole drainage is beautiful and wild. I Can't comment on Senecio Creek.
