We were to go to Dry Creek but monsoons and smoke caused us to kick back at Ink Wells. Oldbill and his nephew Glenn came along. It was nice to get the first 19 miles knocked out in 8 hours........ by horse! Shout out for Stetter Outfitters, Dubois, Wyoming for the ride and graciously letting us stay in their camp a couple days. Oldbill and Glenn went up to Scenic Pass and I stayed and fished a couple of the Ink Wells lakes. Great trip, good company.

Oldbill excited to RIDE!

How was the Old Glacier Trail? I thought I had read that it was washed out which was why it was rerouted.

At least the fishing was good, hopefully that made up for the smoke

Not washed out. As good as new one, not many switchbacks. Outfitters use it mostly.

Great TR. I won't have much different to contribute when I put mine together after I get home. While weather and fire changed our plans, it was a great trip. Always great fun hiking with Bob. Outfished again, as usual, but my excuse this time is I intentionally left my gear behind when I saw the forecast.

The pictures of the smoke, especially the non-zoomed one, are quite dramatic. Did you have problems with air quality? Did the rain fall where the fire was and help at all?

Ash fall.. and haze. smoke didn't both me but I'm used to it. It got rain but drying out again this week
