Hi, Some friends and I are planning a traverse of the Wind River High Route this summer. We are hoping to keep the trip at around 60 miles. Can someone tell me if it is going to be possible to exit to a trailhead in order to keep the trip at around 60 miles. If it is not possible, could someone tell me if they think 4 guys in their mid forties who exercise frequently and are in pretty good shape can pull off the full 80 mile trip in 6-7 days.

Whose route? Wilson's is doable in 6-7 if you're a very experienced backpacker and in good shape and acclimated. I know a couple triple crowners who did it in 6 or 6.5.

Skurkas route is impossible in 6 or 7 unless you're pretty dang elite.

Keep in mind you may get shut down by weather for a half day, or two or whatever.
