Maybe the first wildflowers of the season? In a super protected spot along some rocks in the Mojave Desert:

Not sure, maybe Desert Gold Poppy (Mojave Poppy) ?

the first spring flowers of the season are out in St. George.
I just looked up St. George's elevation and saw 2700'. In about 5 weeks, we'll be at Coyote Buttes (elevation ~5000'). I'm wondering if we'll get to see flowers there? It would be so fun to see some in addition to all the amazing rocks!

Nice, Titans! Below we have the usual "bike and first of the prairie crocus" shot, taken March 26 on my neighbourhood trail network. These trails face SW on open grassy hillsides, so spring hits there first, but it's earlier than usual for flowers to appear.

Escalante Flowers - 3rd week of April

I enjoyed seeing some lovely flowers in the canyons and on the land up above the river. For the first few days of our trip, I was hoping to see cacti blooming but only saw buds. Late in the day on the 20th, I was thrilled to spot red flowers - the first! The next day I saw two more cacti in bloom, both fuchsia. I'm guessing there are cacti flowers all over the place by now!
