Has anyone camped at White Pine lake up Little Cottonwood? Are there any good campspots, it looks pretty rocky from the images I have seen. I am thinking about doing a quick over nighter up there.

At least it's kind of down in a bowl. I'm considering this one too. Or perhaps Red Pine. I swear there was a trip report here a year or two ago from White Pine that made it look pretty good.

I think white pine would be a bad place for an overnighter. From my recollection the only good campsites are next to the lake so it really would not work out. I would do red pine or even maybird for an overnighter.

In White Pine there's an old trail that heads down form near the dam, it's a pleasant alternative to the road.

Maybird does have a few places to camp well above the lake, with views of the Pfeifferhorn. Takes a bit of effort to get up there and find them. Advantage is that you'll almost never have company. Early season there's running water nearby, at this point you're probably walking down to the lake for water.

I have seen people camp and build fires near White Pine lake. There are only a few places to put a tent by the lake. Hardly anyone camps up there.
