Any thoughts on good places to see or hear wolves in Yellowstone National Park backcountry in September?

Looks like Lamar gets the most votes. Thanks.Lamar
Yes--will definitely come down to luck in the end!My brother and I listened to them for a while when camped at the 9 Mile site along the South Boundary Trail. Have also heard them in Hayden and Lamar. Mostly just need good luck though.
A couple of people have told me the same thing. And to look for the people with spotting scopes.I don't hear them in the backcountry so much as in the Lamar, when I stop along the road.
Not familiar with that area. Have to look at a map to see where it is!Our group heard plenty of them at campsite WA1 on Gneiss Creek last year in September. They howled us to sleep essentially.
Or off my deck at home. Here them fairly often. Thanks, everyone. Lots of good suggestions.
