What's On The Summit?

This past weekend I climbed a 10er in the Flat Tops and when I arrived at the summit I came across this? I've found some strange stuff while out hiking before, but I cannot figure out what the heck this was used for? Anyone out there know or have an idea? There was a hole on either side with PVC pipe and it looks like there may have been wires going inside at one time? Thanks!

My first guess, due to the insulation, was some sort of radio cabinet. Scott P. also mentions it being part of a radio tower here.
