What is the permit name for the Grand Canyon North ...

About 3 years ago, we went on a day trip down the grand canyon north through Bill Hall Trail, and was told we need a permit to stay overnight (backpacking). Does anyone know what name of the permit we need to acquire, is it from Recreation.gov?

You'll need a backcountry permit, explained here: https://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/backcountry-permit.htm. I think it's become a bit more complicated since last time I got one, but that's a popular spot so make sure you get your request in on time. It's a beautiful hike if you do the full loop. I think you'll find my report and others by searching this site.

Not sure if it helps but these are the backcountry 'zones' I had on my permit when I did the Deer Creek/Thunder River loop a couple years ago. We started at Bill Hall.
