What food is this?

Hi!

I feel stupid, my coworker sent me this photo of his dish for the day, but I can't figure out what the two items in the middle is. The "swirling" thing that looks like the underbody of a snail or the tentacles of an octopus, and the thing just to the right of it, the pink thing with dozens of "ears" sticking out of it.

Please, can someone tell me what this is?

It’s classic octopus ceviche! Yummy. Delicious, had it many times in Mexico. Italians are also very fond of it.

Ceviche with octopus is also big in Peru. I've had it with Peruvian families in the US a few times.

That sure looks tasty. I am so torn on eating octopus anymore. I do really enjoy it but after reading about the intelligence of them I have a little bit of moral dilemma/guilt when I rarely eat it. My wife piles on with the guilt since if it wasn't that I'm the cook of the house she would be vegetarian.
