Hi Everyone,

Me and two buddies will be headed up to the Uintas for three days starting tomorrow. I have scoped out and planned on hiking from Christmas Meadows to Day1 - Ryder Lake, then down to Day 2 - Kermsuh, then Day 3 - back down. This looks beautiful, however for some reason the fact that the road isn't that far from Ryder irritates me, so I'm contemplating trying the route over the Highline Trail into Ryder (Middle Basin) then going somewhere else on Day2. Anyway, I'd say were willing to do 4-5 hrs of hiking (up to 8-9miles?) a day, but we definitely want time do relax and do some fishing, so there is a balance there. What would ya'll recommend? We are all in our 20's and in decent shape.

Thanks for the input and recommendations!

There are short cuts into both Middle Basin and West Basin from the west side by 150. I know of a group that does the pass to Ryder every year. I am positive I have seen a TR on here of someone doing the shortcut to Kermsuh in middle basin as well. If you had two vehicles it would allow you to get to Ryder quickly and the slowly make your way out to the Christmas Meadows THdoing a point to point. Day 1 Ryder, Day 2 Kermsuh and Day 3 hike out to CMTH. The pass would be difficult but definitely shorter! Its a route I have wanted to do but haven't gotten to it, wish I had so I had better advice!
