What did you buy today?

Last time I went to Alaska (2 years ago), all I took was freeze-dried food and granola. I got so sick of it that I ended up eating junk from gas stations on the way. So I decided to buy one of these.

I got it at REI and am wondering if it's worth the price. $280 will buy lots of gas station hot dogs.

I really want a Yeti but don't think I can justify the cost

A fridge would be nice, but I don't have room for it with all the other junk I carry (which includes 3 dogs, though they sure aren't junk or even junkyard dogs). And sometimes I even throw my cat in with it all when he wants to go. He's a great camp cat, stays on a leash. Maybe he could ride in the Yeti when it gets hot.

After checking out the RTIC, I may just take the Yeti back. Thanks, Nick, wasn't aware they even existed.

I agree on the RTIC cooler.
I borrowed a friends RTIC 65 for a trip down south of the needles. 8 days right before Memorial day. Temps mid to upper 70's. I still had half a 10 lb block of ice in it when I got home. Half the price of the YETI.

Gramin Vivosmart 3 cause I got to lose some pudge. This thing will tell you everything you are doing (or should be doing). Freakin Big Bro yo.:coffee:

My Fire Knife arrived from Massdrop!

Been having an argument with myself for a year justifying buying a Bora and then talking myself out of it. Definitely post what you think of it. That kangaroo pouch seems like such a no brainer I don't understand why more bag makers don't incorporate it.

Received a bear canister today for my backpacking trip in Wind River Range in August. BV-500: $62, 2 lbs 9 oz. It's a little larger than I expected, but I believe that's exactly what I need for 6 day trip.

Its big but you will probably fill it up quicker than you think for a six day trip! Enjoy!

Don't fret about food for a 6 day trip. Day 1 food doesn't need to be in the can. Day 6 can be short rations. 4.5 days of food in the can.
Have fun.

So I splashed up for a packraft, debated between nirvana sb vs castaway models from Kokopelli and finally went with castaway xl model. It's good enough for running mild rivers and perfect for slow waters/lake and roomy enough for both my dogs.

One chamber inflated.

Both inflated. seat position is pretty flexible, will probably run them pretty far back and still have room for a dog at behind. Floor is inflatable as well(not inflated in this pic).
Will get to try it out this weekend in uintas or somewhere.

How much does it cost and what's the weight?

It's pretty heft as far as packrafts goes, 10lbs or so. Cost me about $780 for the raft and their paddle.
