I am looking at purchasing some lightweight bag/sacks to help organize my gear in my backpack. what are some of the ways you do it?

I hear a lot about sil-nylon, but the only thing I use is a freezer bag here and there. A gallon or two for food, a quart for first-aid/emergency, etc. I find the problem with bagging gear inside your bag is that it keeps things from packing in nicely. Lots of wasted space between things.

That makes sense, and is usually how I pack right now - Just through everything in and go. BUT it seems like it would be nice to have some bags to organize things a bit better. Just curous to see what others are using and if they have any recomendations.

Thanks.

I sewed up some silnylon bags and I use Loc saks, tougher than regular ziplocks and lightweight. Other than that I just stuff soft goods around in the pack.

Sea to Summit for the important stuff, freezer bags for almost everything else

I use these and really like them, but as @Nick said I do get little pockets of unused space - but not so much that it's limiting.

Same here. Ditty bags for the stuff I want readily accessible in the tent and freezer bags for the rest. I really don't think you waste much pack space unless they are stuffed completely full.
