Ah maybe the creek... It is hot enough that any thought process is possible, and that one might think they are in a pool oasis when they are actually just sitting on a dirt road or in a parking lot.
The creek though makes a little more sense.

Parley's Creek can't have that much water in it? Maybe there is a pond or something down below that I don't know about.

Oh, I forgot to mention that when I originally attempted the Millcreek Ridge, been seven years ago now, my Jeep got locked in that parking lot for the night because they had locked the gate the night before at 10:00 pm. I didn't get back to the lot from the Church Fork Trailhead until around 12:30 am the next day.
