Dang! I was thinking about a Robbers Roost backpack this weekend, but now I'm somewhat seriously considering a late-season Uintas trip...Hiked the Lakes Trail from Bald Mountain Pass trailhead at 10,300' yesterday. 5 miles in 2-3" of snow and dry feet at the end. Feels late to be enjoying the high country this year but it sure was pretty.
Lakes are frozen mostly hard and I walked across one. The MLH road was clear and dry to at least Bald Mountain Pass and probably over to WY.

Wow. Excellent photo, @ashergrey. I'm not familiar with the gate-shutting procedure. Do they only close it once there's a heavy snowfall?
Dave! your shot posted above made the lead off picture to the weather on KSL tonight. Great! Well done. It looked even better on my big screen TV. I hope they put it in the calendar.UDOT makes the call. They were supposed to close Monte Cristo and East Canyon on Monday but decided to wait on storms.
