Anybody gone tubing on the Weber? I'm interested in doing it soon- maybe on the 4th. Just wondering where the best spots to launch and get out are. Henefer? Taggarts? Morgan?

I saw an access spot on the east end of Morgan that is maintained by barefoot tubing, but didn't know if it's a launch or take out spot.

Thanks.

I would say putting in at Henefer, just above the rock garden, and take out in Taggart. That is what I have always done. I really hate getting into Morgan as the land owners there are a real pain, and they will not hesitate to sick the sheriff on you if you step a foot on there land or get out and walk in the river.

Agreed - Henefer to Taggart. I've gone a couple times with these guys - they run a nice little business shuttling people and providing gear - http://www.barefoottubing.com/. Be forewarned, at least last year, rangers were taking the lifejacket business REAL serious - say them handing out tickets in a variety of spots.

I also agree on the Henefer/Taggart spots although parking can be tough sometimes. It shouldn't take rangers to make you wear a life jacket either. This rive can be very dangerous. I innocently spilled out of my tube and my leg wedged against a submerged rock. I was very surprised at how forcefully I was dragged right to the bottom. Wear some good close-toed shoes too. Some of my friends lost a lot of skin off their feet on some pretty sharp rocks near Taggart. Still, tubing the Weber is an annual ritual for me that is a lot of fun on a hot day.

I always put in a Taggert and got out of the river shortly after the waterfall near main street after the fair grounds. This was a few years back and my aunt lived right on main street in Morgan so it was convienant. I noticed a bunch of kayakers putting in at Taggert on my way back to Colorado last time I was out there.

I used to do this trip about 5-6 times a summer growing up. I always had a big cooler full of beer tied around my waste so I wouldn't loose it. Funny how stupid things you did as a youngster look when you get older.

just did this yesterday - lots of people of the river. put in at Henefer, rode to the lower Morgan take out. was a beautiful day for it - water was perfect.

Hey Y'all any input now days? Have spots exploded in popularity since then?

I think it's about the same as usual. Weekends with hot weather get busy. The spring this year was actually less popular because of the high releases out of Echo but that's all back to normal now.
