Let's hear what everyone has planned for this summer. It's heating up in the desert and the mountains are just about ready!

Here's what I'm planning on right now:

One more trip to Zion to slosh through The Narrows in mid-June

Something up in Idaho late June - Seven Devils's or Sawtooths?

Early July: Point to point from Highline TH, through Naturalist Basin, over to Rock Creek then over the pass to Priord Lake and down.

In between: day hike or quick overnight everything I can in The Wasatch. Lake Blanche, etc. I've lived here for 6 or 7 years now, about time I started hiking some of it.

Late July: Highline Trail end to end

Somewhere amongst all of that I'd like to get in a few good trips to The Winds. Titcomb Basin is looking good. Still not sure of where else to head up there and still not sure if I'm willing to do it solo so far from my home turf. We'll see…

So what do you have planned?

I have a few weekend trips around the Rockies planned, one in the Northern area that should be pretty nice, some old gold mines and a crashed WW2 plane along the way. The other two are in the Southern area around Leadville.

Then I have a week long section of the continental divide trail I am planning for July that should be pretty sweet. The high country is pretty tough to top on views, photos, wildlife and total awsomeness.

My new schedule at work gives me three days one week off and four the next so I am looking for some trips to fill in those gaps. I have been considering a trip up to the Wind Rivers, Tetons, or the Unita's.

Heading to Lake Powell next week for 5 days. I have been there doing some trails by truck, but this time by Boat. We will stop by where my go pro sits in the lake to see if we find it. I don't plan on it but if so that will be sweet! This trip is more about the fishing and night shots for me!

Have 5 days of over 4th of July, those plans keep changing, but we might do a loop up through Idaho to visits my brother and sister. Maybe hit Craters of the Moon for a night too.

Then work ruins the rest of the summer.... till Sept.

I love the heat, so i am going on a couple of Grand Gulch/Dark canyon trips, laying low under a rock during the day and venturing out when it is cool. There are a few spots I like that have big pools, and have been reliable water wise. Bad feelings arise if you have walked for a few miles in the heat only to come upon some nasty mud pit that was once a beautiful pool, so I like to play it safe. The upper reaches of Dominguez Canyon are quite fetching, and are cooler due to 8000' altitude, and it is close and i am broke, so that is where I will be most of the summer. We also climb Mt. Sopris once a year, and a few lakes will be visited too.

Domingez Canyon sounds pretty sweet

Nothing real specific planned yet, but I'm sure I'll be spending some time in the San Juans and Elks. Hoping to get in a few 14ers, too.

I don't have any firm plans between now and Labor Day weekend. I want to do some backpacking in the Uintas and more dayhikes in the Wasatch for sure. It would be awesome to get in a trip to the Winds. Want some company for Titcomb Basin Nick? I'd love to go there.
