Suggestions for a Chile or Argentina backpacking trip

I'm looking to go to either Chile or Argentina this winter (Dec-Jan - their summer) and I am looking for some backpacking trip suggestions. The more off the beaten path and the fewer people we see the better. Something between 5-10 days and off trail travel is encouraged. I have a lot of backpacking experience so the more adventurous the better!
