Today we took a hike into Stony Pond near Minerva, NY. The birches and beeches were ablaze in yellow and gold. The trail follows an old woods road to the pond. It’s also marked as a snowmobile trail. Photos taken by Jackie with her LUMIX camera.

Newish leanto set back into the woods. The old one was very close to the pond and had been deteriorating so it was replaced.

Stony Pond. We ate lunch on the rocks by the pond.

While eating lunch this guy came flying over the treetops and right over us. Not sure if the plane came from Fort Drum or the Air National Guard base in Scotia, NY.

on our way home we stopped along the Hudson River so Jackie could snap some more fall color shots. We were 42 miles from the river’s source at Lake Tear of the Clouds near Mt. Marcy.

Oh my gosh! Look at all those colors! So vibrant and special. Thanks for sharing!
