So I'll be in Cedar City on business in late June. Around the 20th or so. I was thinking about taking a couple days after my meetings to hit up Zion or Arches for some hiking/backpacking

Since I've never been to the area before, I had a couple of questions. Will it be too hot to even attempt to go? If it's not too hot, how much water do I need to ballpark? What are some must-see areas I need to try to hit up? I only will have a couple days.

Arches is pretty far from Cedar, but definitely hit up the Zion area. Its hot but there are lots of wet hikes. Have you done anything in that area? How many days exactly do you have?

If you're already going to be in Cedar City, consider Ashdown Gorge or the Kolob section of Zion. Less travel time from your base of operations means more time to enjoy the hikes.

It's my first time in the area. I'll probably have two or three days max.
