I will be taking my wife and two kids. We plan on stopping at as many national parks as possible and getting the kids a lot of those Jr. Ranger badges. Anyway, there is a great amount of collective wisdom in the members of this site so I am hoping to tap into it for suggestions. I am especially looking for
-kid friendly hikes that are safe but off the beaten path with great scenery and history
-camp site suggestions
-fun places for the kids
-anything else
Thanks in advance.

Hovenweep is cool. Incredible ruins. In south west Colorado extending over the border into Utah, with some more primitive car camping sites.

I was thinking that would be a good place to stop. I'll put it on the list.
