Any paddlers interested in a Selway Trip in late July or perhaps early August? I don't have a permit but I'd try to score a cancellation permit for late July as the water gets low. I'd be using a packraft. IKs would work as well in the low water. There are a lot of variables but I'm curious to see if there is anyone interested. Let me know. :)

Bumping since only one of my friends is interested...and wouldn't want to do the trip with just two of us. =)

Looks like a beautiful river! Curious . . . do you float the whole 100 miles or just a stretch of it? What are the conditions like in low water? Based on @sixstringsteve comment, is this a river that is mostly for the skilled paddler?

Based on the Google photos this definitely a river I'll keep on my radar. Would love to hear how it goes if you end up doing it.

We floated the 47 miles from the Paradise put-in (packrafts) back in late July of 2012 and the low water wasn't an issue at all for us. It obviously changes the complexion of the rapids and lines but we floated it with minimal carnage. =) My two swims were dorky ones. We don't consider ourselves experienced paddlers so we approached the rapids with caution and scouted all the the class IV ones. It was a great trip.

I need a better kayak. :(
I dont think my sea eagle would keep up.

Yeah? Any interest in going? Padding experience? If we go, we'll likely leave around July 31st and return around August 5th or 6th. It's a healthy drive to the put in (10 hours from Utah County).

As it stands there are only two of us that are interested (which would mean the trip is a no go - we want 3 or 4). There are two maybe's who are supposed to let us know but it's not looking good.

Yeah, I don't think I could make this one. I'd love to go, but I noticed this thread a bit late. My gear may also be a bit under par for this trip.

That place looks awesome.

I might be able to borrow a packraft for you. My friend has one and isn't going...although I don't know how he'd feel about loaning it out. If that makes a difference for you, let me know and I'll inquire.
