A little more detail, device is going to cost $99 and then the cheap plan is $5/month. Even if it sucks it will hopefully make the other stuff cheaper

I recently got the Zoleo, I like how it works and fits in with the app, but so far I've only tested it from home and not in the field, I'll update if these late winter storms ever stop

I have a Zoleo as well and I used it while out in Yellowstone on the Grizzly Lake excursion last September. Worked fine, sent messages to my wife back in NY and I was able to receive her replies.
