San Rafael swell camping spots with good sunsets

Now that I'm too old to do anything hardcore, I break away from a family get together for a few days of solo camping in Utah. I do day hikes and sleep by the truck.

This year, probly in October, I want to go to the San Rafael swell. I hope to be driving a 4 wheel drive pick up if the rental agency doesn't jerk me around like it did last year.

Any tips on places to camp that have big views and are good for sunsets?

Definitely the Wedge! There are a few nice camp spots right across the rim. I camped there many times

The Wedge is probably the best place for consistent sunsets.
I will give a plug for the San Rafael desert area as well. One of my favorite photos from near Colonnade Arch (although this may have been sunrise, now that I think about it!)
