Quick question for any that have been to backcountry sites in RMNP. Do most of the sites have cleared areas for non-freestanding tents? Or is it going to be real beneficial to have a freestanding tent?
Every RMNP backcountry site I have stayed at had a fairly level clear area to put your tent... unless you are bringing like a 10 person condo-sized t ent
