Red Cliffs & Dixie NF fire-related trail/road closures (St George area)

The Turkey Farm Road fire is currently active and now contained, but has impacted ing Red Cliffs Desert Reserve and Dixie NF road and trail access. UT Fire is asking people to avoid the following:

• Turkey Farm Road, also called Cottonwood Road
• Danish Ranch Rd (Forest Service Rd 031, which connects Leeds to Washington and is the access for Yant Flat and Yankee Doodle Canyon)
• BLM Forest Service Rd 901
• Winchester Trail Road
• Icehouse Trail
• Yellow Knolls Trail
• Black Gulch Trail
• Middleton Trail
• Mesa Rim Trail

Investigators are asking the public for help identifying the individuals responsible for starting the fire with fireworks. Suspects: 3 teenage males seen driving a white sedan on Cottonwood rd around 9 pm on July 13th. Contact 435-704-4456 with info.

The Cottonwood Trails Fire near Harrisburg/Leeds is now 90% contained, but affected the following trails (at a minimum):

• Prospector Trail (almost to Church Rocks)
• Leeds Reef Trail
• Cordura Trail

White Reef and the inner trails appear to be OK. Access to the area around Red Cliffs Campground is restricted.

many of my favorite trails are impacted, so sad
And fuck all the humans who cause these fires. There have been so many already this year.
The closest was less than a quarter of a mile from my place, I already had my scare this year
