We recently got a killer deal on an older tent trailer. One of our dogs is a diva and won't sleep in the tent. We have always gone to moab and either tent camped on blm or stayed at kokopelli lodge since they are sooooo dog friendly. Anyone have suggestions on where to take the tent trailer in moab that isn't a commercial campground? I see so many great sites when I'm on the river but I've never investigated them for a small trailer.

It is getting harder and harder to camp around Moab. Use to be you could pull off anywhere and camp but those days are gone. Depending what you want to do? You can go in the Klondike Bluffs road up by the airport and camp anywhere. Fun Hiking up to the bluffs or into the park. There are also Dino foot prints there. About 10 miles before you enter Island in the sky you can go tot he west from the BLM campground there and camp out in the desert. There are usually others out there and some 4 wheelers but it is a good home base for going into the park. I would suggest the San Rafael Swell at the top of Reds Canyon or along the Mackay Flat road if you want to leave the people behind. Then go hike the river through the reef by the hidden Splendor mine. We had a tent trailer for years and drug it all over out there.

Have Fun, Bill
