I am very new to backpacking in utah, like really new! so i was wondering how do you guys know were to go how to get there? I have seen some trail reports of people going out to incredibly specific spots in designated wilderness areas, so how do I do it?
Thank you!

For the Uintas, these are good resources:

Hiking Utah's High Uintas by Jeffrey Probst
High Uintas Wilderness Trails Illustrated Map by National Geographic

I just hiked on the trail to Priord Lake. ;) By the time I did Priord, I'd already checked off almost everything else on my Uintas 'to-do' list so I was already very familiar with the area. Get that map in front of you, get familiar with the terrain. Read trip reports, read the trail descriptions. Pick one and go for it, then it will all start to make sense.

Is your To-Do list public? seems like a place were i can pick out some hikes that I would enjoy. If you would like to keep it to yourself, certainly no judgement from me, just wondering.
P.S. just ordered those booklets! thank you for the recommendations!

Just go dig into the trip reports section. That's as good or better than any to do list you could look at. Start with something commensurate with your skill level. If 20 miles round-trip in the wilderness is intimidating, start with some day hikes or some short overnighters in more hospitable terrain.
