Home sick today. Going through some old photos. Thought I'd post a few pic's .
Spent some time with family exploring Picture Rocks National Lake Shore.
Busy place, park campsites were full so we car camped at a nearby State Forest camp ground and spent a few days hiking and exploring the area.
There are backpacking sites but I prefer to day hike this area, you can see more of the park if you move around.
The North Country Trail goes through park along the lake Superior shoreline.
This is a pretty awesome place. Here's a few pics from my S4 phone.P1080848.JPG

Beautiful! I've heard good things about this part of the country, but haven't really seen much. Thanks for posting. Oh, and I hope you get to feeling better.

Thanks, just a bad cold.
Just called in sick again today. I'll be posting more.
I figure all you Utah folks and others on this site would like to see some parts of the this country you might not ever get to see.

S'mores and cribbage. Great combo!

And now all I want is MORE! Great TR!! That place with a little bit of wind ...and it'd be a very scenic place to windsurf!

Kayaking the waters along the shore line is pretty popular activity with back country campsites. But windsurfing could be a blast with the wind and waves that lake can stir up.

One of my favorite trips for a long weekend! The Chapel Loop hike is beautiful, hiking on the cliffs and admiring the rock formations and plenty of cool stuff to see in the woods portions (Mosquito Falls and Chapel Falls too). Since they paved H-58 through the park, camping spots are hard to come by unless you go in spring or fall but if you head east of Grand Marais, rustic sites (Lake Superior, Blind Sucker, Reed & Green, Two-Hearted, etc. are plentiful). Bonus if you are a fisherman, there are plenty of pretty little brookie streams in the area. Only bad thing is dogs aren't allowed anywhere but parking lots and campgrounds. Thanks for sharing, made this frigid, snowy day a little brighter!

An old yooper myself, I can tell you there's no place like it.
