Hard hike and lots of scrambling._MG_1642.jpg _MG_1643.jpg _MG_1647.jpg
The Pfeifferhorn is located in the most isolated part of the Lone Peak Wilderness Area. There is no easy route to the summit, all approaches involve a minimum of 4 1/2 miles of trekking and over 3700' of elevation gain. A round trip from the White Pine trailhead to the summit requires a minimum of 7 1/2 hours in summer under ideal conditions.

Which route did you take, and would you take the same route again?

I took the trail to Red Pine Lake, continue to Upper Red Pine Lake and for the minor ridge heading southwest from Upper Red Pine Lake to Alpine Ridge. I am sure there are other ways to get there. It was a easy way to get there at least for me. I just dont like repeating the hikes. I would like to do Lone peak and Mt Olympus Peak this summer.
