Crazy...my wife's childhood best friend was the daughter of Tony Rich, the climber referenced in the article as being killed on Granite Peak, in Montana. I didn't know any back story on this, other than he was killed while climbing because someone had thrown rocks from above. It's chilling to read the full extent. Up until about 5 years ago, Nicole balked at the idea of me going climbing. No logical explanation, only reason being is because she was so close to the family at the time of the death and how their lives were shaped afterwards.
