Anyone heading out to camp for New Year's Eve next week? We were hoping for some 40's and calm weather to go out and spend a few days in Glen Canyon, but the forecast has officially scared my wife away. And maybe me too. It would take a mighty large pile of wood to make that work.

The thought crossed my mind to head down to Freezefest in North Wash. You can always count on plenty of people to brave the weather there. But what about you BCP'ers? You going to brave the single digits? I love camping on NYE, but....

I'm considering options. The cold and long nights don't sound super appealing, but I'd rather not sit at home.

If my family doesn't come and visit I may spend NYE out somewhere in the SE section of Utah. I work the 31st and 2nd so it'd be a quicky but I miss my sleeping bag. Only really 10% thought out ("I wouldn't mind camping").

No plans as of right now. We've done Bryce Canyon a couple of times over NYE. That is stayed a Ruby's Inn, snowshoed out to a point, rung in the new year, hurried back to the car to take us back to the room. :D Then of course we'd hike around all day taking pics of the amazing snow covered Hoodoo's.

We'll probably hang out at home...it's hard to find a way to keep little ones warm all through a winter's night.

I thought about heading down south somewhere with my trailer, but forecasts just seem too damn cold.

I'm 90% in. I can't leave until NYE, but 2 nights, giant fire. les do it.

I was going to go to freezefest, I took a week off work, and woke up yesterday feeling very sick. Looks like I'll be laying around and feeling like hell all week.

Looks like @slc_dan and I are heading somewhere for a couple nights starting on the 31st. Looks like the southern Swell or down Hole-in-the-Rock are good candidates based on snow coverage across the state. If anyone is out and about down that way, let me know. It would be cool to connect for a hike and a campfire or two.

Snow coverage as of yesterday.
