Noob from Wyoming

I imagine packing into the Cirque is pretty straight forward. Do you have any specific questions or concerns with getting to those areas?
 
I want to go from Dickinson park and up the canyon to lizard's head meadows. I've been looking at maps and can't find a trail that connects Dickinson park to the north fork trail.

Ahh... Thank you very much. I didn't know about that high meadow trail. I could use that or just make an off trail route off of the smith lake trail down to the Popo Agie. Thank you for your help @Blake Merrel

If you go to the main website, caltopo.com, you can see a little more. It looks like the North Fork Trail goes all the way to the Dickinson Park Trailhead.

I believe the book "Beyond Trails in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming" describes alternate off trail routes through that area as well.

Yes, that is where I got all the off trail maps. I am in the process of putting them into CalTopo. Love that site!

Welcome!
An off-trail route of interest is described in Nancy Pallister's book "Beyond Trails in the Wind River Mountains." You can explore the Smith Lakes area from Dickinson Park, then continue west up to Mendarrin Lake. From there, ascend south up the slope (ramp) then west up the Lizard Head Plateau to meet the Lizard Head Trail. From there, descend the trail south past the Bear Lakes to Lizard Head Meadows. From here, it is only 2 miles to the Cirque. This route would be a much more scenic and adventurous alternative than the trails.
