Hello all,
As the title states I am from Arizona but am currently living in Mexico City with my partner. We've been here a year and will be here a few more. Unfortunately we have not figured out much yet in regards to ourdoors activities here. Camping and backpacking don't seem to have the same culture here and hikes aren't as easily accesible as they were at home. Hopefully we can get out there soon enough though, we're looking for some groups to start up with. We'll be in California for a few days later in the year so we will camp then at least (see my post here regarding that https://backcountrypost.com/threads/good-dispersed-camping-within-3-hours-of-los-angeles.11674/)
I've missed being able to get outdoors and thought I would find an active forum that discusses such activities and shares photos, advice etc. I was hoping to find one that is relatively active and not overly focused on gear and and weight (granted, I do enjoy gear and ultralight is cool, just not an interest of mine). I don't use social media or Reddit, much prefer message boards.
For anyone interested, I have a photo blog in my signature with some recent outdoors trips which I will also periodically share in the photo threads here.
