IMG_5102.jpegWell, next week I will have a new reverse shoulder replacement on th right shoulder…after 67 yrs th time has come to replace it. Trust me, I would rather be spending th $$$$$$$$$$$$ on gas to head to the mountains or new backpacking gear…but. During the pre-surgery appointment this morning I was told I will be able to be backpacking by December down here in hot ole Texas… I guess since Scatman got some new Backpack And gear for his knee last year. It’s time for me to get it from my shoulder.. happy trails to everyone

Congrats! Is it ultralight? :)
I hope! I did ask if I would be able to go backpacking in December (just north of Austin there’s Lake Georgetown, which has a 26 mile trail around the lake and he said yes just be sure to do most of the heavy lifting with my left arm. So I guess I’ll try to become even more lightweight than I currently am .

In all seriousness I hope it works out well for you. I have a buddy who had back surgery a year ago and even though he’s been cleared by the doc
the hardest part for him has been getting his confidence back

I don't know about hips, but my new knee has been great. I hope you have the same luck I have had.
My wife had both her hips replaced in the last 2 1/2 years and she’s doing great. I’m hoping this shoulder will do good. They’re gonna do the reverse shoulder thingy where they’re gonna do it so it should help I’ll be backpacking in December hopefully.
