To all you backcountry fanatics, I would like to invite all of you, and particularly those living within the Salt Lake City commuting area, on March 17th, to the Scatman lair for the 26th annual National Corndog Day. You're probbaly asking yourself , "What the Hell is National Corndog Day?" Well, one of my ex coworker's roommates started this tradition back in 1992 at the University of Oregon. It consists of eating corndogs, tater tots and drinking the beverages of your choice all while taking in a full day of the NCAA basketball tournament. If you can down 10 corndogs, 100 tater tots and 10 beverages of your choice you qualify for the infamous triple double. Don't like basketball you say, that's okay too, just head on over for a bite to eat and say "hello" to the Scat family and we can scat about the great outdoors if you like. Doors open at 9:30 am and close after the last game is completed (approx 10:00 pm).
National Corndog Day
So, if you are in the area of 766 9th Avenue in Salt Lake City on Saturday the 17th, please stop by and say "Hi" and get you a bite to eat and stay as long as you can stand. Weather permitting, we'll have some corn hole going in the front yard and probably have some James Brown and Aretha Franklin playing on the back deck for my soul fix, along with some Sly and the Family Stone, Funkadelic and Parliament for my funky side, If it's outlaws you like Waylon, Wille and Johnny Cash should foot the bill, and of course the Allman Brothers Band for my southern heritage.
PS - I promise I won't make you wear a kilt or bikini top!
There usually are other food choices too if you are allergic to dogs and tots - and if you just want to make fun of this post please feel free.
