I dont like the feeling of a harness under my pack so this is my solution. This is about 7bucks worth of clips and webbing from REI and the system can be used on all 3 of my bags.

The bag I used is a LowePro Toploader 65

These will set you about about 40cent for a pack of three. I plan on putting a pair on each pack so I can just move the same straps amongst my packs.

hmm.. I might have to look into this. are you able to wear the chest thingy w/out your pack? I would definitely see some advantages there when out backpacking

This is cool. I went with the following, and strap it to me the same way as Summit, but with carabiners. The biggest draw to me was it being waterproof, but the negative is that it's big, and I don't know if this would rip, although it's held up OK so far.

That should come in handy in May! Is that the same waterproof SLR pack that Zion Adventure Company rents?

Yes - the exact same. It caught my eye while renting gear at ZAC the last time we went through the Narrows.

It comes in handy for scout and family outings rain or shine, and snowboarding (it's on the chest - where I won't smash my gear).
