So, they caught the Mountain Man today. Backcountry is a bit safer in southern Utah, despite now for my mystery in camping here I have to believe in Bigfoot!

I know the guy was up to no good, totally took advantage of cabin owners and whatnot, but man I was pulling for him to never get caught.
I have been in a few situations in life, both with the law, and with other stuff that made me wish I could just load my pack up and disapear into the wilderness. I have heard stories from freinds about running into mountain men in the backcountry, talking with them or just seeing them before they took cover.

All criminal acts aside, this dude did it. Lived alone, in the bakcounrty for years finding his way and relying only on himself. Now that he is busted, lets fry this doucher for making me nervous when I had my kids with me camping.

Good points Nurrgle. The guy is a total douche for what he did to people's property, but it is pretty fascinating to think he lived out there for so long, even if it was supported by some looting. He'd be a great person to be friends with in an apocalyptic, run-to-the-hills kind of situation. I'd love to hear more about how he actually lived and how much of it was just pure cabin-supported. I smell a movie deal...

Utah law says he wouldn't be able to make any money off it, so I wouldn't hold your breath.
