Moonhouse Trail Questions

We are planning on hiking into Owl Creek and doing a day hike to Moonshine. Does anyone know how many miles it is from the confluence at the top of Owl Creek to the Moonhouse ruin?

You will need a separate permit to visit Moonhouse than to hike in canyons on Cedar Mesa. It's about 7 miles one way from the jct of Fish / Owl creek to Moonhouse. There is a couple decent pouroffs to negotiate. Some of it is brushy and just use trails. I'd do the Owl / Fish creek loop camping, then do Moonhouse from the car park TH.

Thanks for the info. Just to confirm, you are saying it's about 7 miles one way from the top confluence of Owl/Fish loop to the Moonhouse ruin?

Confluence where Owl creek meets Fish creek....... not giving anything away as Moonhouse is well known. Check out on GoogleEarth
