I'm planning a trip to the Moab area in about two weeks and would like to hike to False Kiva, I have never been there. I am taking my 5 yo is somewhat out of shape and I don't want to make it a bad experience for him. Could anyone tell me how the trail is; how long, cliffs, uphill, etc.

I would also like some pointers for locations of petroglyphs/pictographs that are somewhat easy to get to in the Moab are.

Thanks for your help!

The trail is short. Not more than a mile or so I think. It's easy hiking for the first 2/3 and then the last 1/3 it gets a little bit steep but not really any exposure or anything to worry about. Should be just find for a 5 yo and someone who hasn't been hiking lately. :)

I'm not much help on the rock art. :(

Its a pretty steep hill so keep in mind he may be hating you on the climb out. My 5yo ran up it a few weeks ago but hes a really good hiker for his age.
