Just looked at my calendar it is a full moon on the 25th. We should do Ashdown Gorge the weekend of the 25th.

death valley actually has some great canyons for beginners, if we actually made it happen. it's just a long drive for folks from utah, so it has to be a long weekend. generally lots of folks in DV over presidents day.

I'd probably do DV as a photography/camping trip since I've never done any canyoneering and don't even know where to start (okay, I'd start in a canyon but wouldn't know where to go from there!) so any canyoneering I do is going to have to wait until after May. I think there's a partial moon over one of the three day weekends in February-good for night shots in DV.
