Anybody paddle down Meander Canyon to Spanish Bottom, on the Colorado, and then paddle back to the Potash ramp? How long did it take? How difficult? Any other useful info? Thanks!

I'm gonna guess not. Once on the Green River in Labyrinth Canyon (probably not much different from Meander on the Colorado), I had to paddle three miles upstream with two other guys in the canoe also paddling. It was extremely difficult and I doubt anyone could handle Spanish Bottom to Potash like that.

I talked to a guy on Tex's boat one time who paddled up to Potash from Spanish Bottom with a sea kayak. He said it was a piece of cake.

To answer my own question, my wife and I just finished a tandem sea kayak trip, paddling from Potash ramp to Spanish Bottom (53 miles)in roughly 10 hours over 2 days. The return trip took 3 days over about 20 hours. Flow was 3000 - 3300 cfs and sandbars required some routefinding. Had to drag up Indian Creek riffle but paddled everything else.

I would have much rather spent 5 days going down with lots of time for exploring and spent a bit of money for the 2 hour jet boat ride back, but to each their own! Glad you pulled it off!
