"Mazing" Six day backpack in Canyonlands Maze Dist. Pt 2. April 13-15, 2017

Great pictures. I liked seeing all the new (to me) rock art.

I also enjoyed seeing the route thru Big Water Canyon. Sounds like the water in in the spring in there was pretty bad? Were you able to locate the Cowboy Graffiti near the spring?

Good trip.

How was the water situation overall?

Besides the Maze Overlook route, which of the other three routes in to/out of the Maze did you like the best?

Thanks for the report John! In regards to the pothole a bit north of Beehive Arch. Think there was enough there to last until next week? We'll be passing by there next Tuesday afternoon.
Which Tuesday? I do think so, but it maybe be a bit manky. The North Trail Canyon we found had lost very little water to evaporation in the 6 days apart that we passed it.

Lots of water in the washes of the Maze Forks. Potholes even in some of the approach/exit canyons. We felt more H2O than the board at Hans Flat indicated. Found same on CM and The Comb.
I think my favorite was the Pete's Mesa Fork and Chimney Fork.
John

Thanks for the interest, everyone!

Yes, there was ample water. We played it safe, but found water quite readily (April 25th - April 29th)

Out of curiosity, did theBeehive pothole have water?
